data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"19\">REDD Early Movers Mato Grosso<\/i>) \u00e9 uma iniciativa que premia Mato Grosso pelos seus resultados reais na redu\u00e7\u00e3o do desmatamento e na conserva\u00e7\u00e3o das nossas florestas.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Por ser um programa de <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"23\">REDD+<\/b> (Redu\u00e7\u00e3o de Emiss\u00f5es por Desmatamento e Degrada\u00e7\u00e3o florestal), o REM MT n\u00e3o funciona de forma isolada: ele segue regras globais r\u00edgidas para garantir que os recursos financeiros recebidos sejam aplicados de forma justa, segura e transparente. Essas regras s\u00e3o conhecidas como as <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"308\">Salvaguardas de Canc\u00fan<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">De onde v\u00eam essas regras? (O Contexto)<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Em 2010, durante a <b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"19\">COP 16<\/b> (a Confer\u00eancia da ONU sobre Mudan\u00e7a do Clima, realizada em Canc\u00fan), o mundo tomou uma decis\u00e3o importante:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Pa\u00edses ou estados que desejam receber compensa\u00e7\u00e3o financeira por proteger suas florestas (como faz o REM MT) precisam, obrigatoriamente, adotar e monitorar crit\u00e9rios de prote\u00e7\u00e3o social e ambiental \u2014 as chamadas Salvaguardas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">Para que servem as Salvaguardas de REDD+?<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">Pense nas Salvaguardas como um &#8220;escudo protetor&#8221; e, ao mesmo tempo, um &#8220;motor de melhorias&#8221;. Elas servem para:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"13\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Reduzir riscos:<\/b> Evitar qualquer impacto negativo na natureza ou na vida das pessoas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Potencializar o que \u00e9 bom:<\/b> Ampliar
