REM MT Governance
It aims to guarantee the participation of relevant governmental and organizational actors in the State in decision-making regarding the Program's performance.

The governance of the REM MT Program is structured to ensure the effective implementation and execution of the Program. Involving multiple bodies, such as the State Forum on Climate Change and the Management Council of the State REDD+ System, the structure promotes social and scientific participation. SEMA MT's International Programs and Projects Unit (UPPI) leads coordination, with technical and financial support from national and international partners. This organization is vital to achieving the goals of reducing deforestation and sustainable development.

MATO-GROSSENSE CLIMATE CHANGE FORUM (FMMC)

The Mato Grosso Climate Change Forum [1] (FMMC), of a consultative nature, has the participation of representatives from different segments of society and aims to promote dialogue with civil society and beneficiaries of the program, monitor and evaluate the results of the REM MT program, as well as forwarding suggestions for the development of the State REDD+ System to the Management Council of the State REDD+ System.

MANAGEMENT BOARD

O Management Council of the State REDD+ System[1], deliberative and parity body of the State REDD+ System, is responsible for approving criteria, standards and methodologies to be applied in the REM MT Program, as well as for approving the Benefit Sharing Strategy.

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE OF THE INDIGENOUS TERRITORIES SUBPROGRAM OF THE REM MT PROGRAM

A Governance Committee of the Indigenous Territories Subprogram its purpose is to advise the Coordination of the REM-MT Indigenous Territories Subprogram (TI) and deliberate on projects and actions supported by the STI subprogram, which reach the villages of 43 indigenous peoples in Mato Grosso.

In practice, it guides actions aimed at strengthening food sovereignty, socio-cultural, women, equity and gender, job generation, income and commercialization, territorial and environmental management, surveillance and monitoring of Indigenous Territories, communication, health, prevention and combating fires forestry, combating the coronavirus, among many other topics related to indigenous territories.

Composition of the Governance Committee of the Indigenous Territories Subprogram of the REM MT Program

The Governance Committee for the Indigenous Territories Subprogram is made up of 18 members, with their respective alternates. It is important to highlight that only indigenous representatives have the right to vote on the Commission. The other members have a propositional role, supporting and advising decision-making.

STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF THE REM MATO GROSSO PROGRAM (CEGREM)

The Strategic Management Committee of the REM Mato Grosso Program [1] has the mission of coordinating the implementation of the Global REDD Early Movers Program – REM in the State of Mato Grosso, in accordance with the guidelines of the State REDD+ System, established by Law No. 9,878 of January 7, 2013, and the commitments made with the Coordination of the REM Program of the German Government Development Bank – KfW. CEGREM is a deliberative body focused exclusively on decision-making at the executive level of the Government, in the management of the REM MT Program.
